My Experience in Education:

As a highly effective professional I have held senior management positions in schools, CfBT Inspections Services and within The National Strategies acting on behalf of the Department for Education. I served as a headteacher in a large primary school and also acted as a seconded headteacher for a school in Special Measures. It was during this period of secondment that the school was recognised as one of the most improved schools nationally in terms of pupil outcomes.

I have been inspecting schools since 2005, initially training under the Section 10 Ofsted Framework and then under Section 5 to lead both Primary and Special School inspections, as well as SCC monitoring visits. As a Senior Inspector I was responsible for the training and induction of new inspectors as well as mentoring and assessing newly trained lead inspectors on their first inspection. I also investigated and responded to complaints following inspections across the northern region.

As Senior School Improvement Adviser for the National Strategies I provided strategic leadership and co-ordination to secure improved standards and rates of progression, the closing of the attainment gap for underachieving groups and increased workforce expertise across nine Local Authorities, which make up the East Midlands Region.

In 2010, I established a consultancy company dedicated to supporting improvements in services for children and young people. I work with a number of local authorities within the UK to support their priority schools. I also work with academy trusts to support both their aspiring to excellent academies and free schools (primary and secondary) as well as offer more bespoke support for those which are more vulnerable. I support headteacher performance management and also deliver staff and governor development training. In November 2015, I was appointed as a Specialist Adviser for the DfE within the UK.

I am a lead inspector for British schools overseas; I have inspected in Dubai, Nigeria, Singapore and Bangkok. I also conduct International School Quality Mark (ISQM) accreditation visits. I inspect in Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) and in Dubai for the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB). I also have a number of school improvement partner contracts for schools in Thailand, Singapore and China.

I have a creative and dynamic team of professional consultants working with me, with a proven track record of school improvement both nationally and within individual schools. We are able to support self-evaluation, whole school review and to respond to the individual requirements of your school.
